SHOW GENRE CHANNEL DESCRIPTION
ALONE Reality HISTORY Survivor on steroids! 10 contestants are dropped off in remote locations and left totally alone. No camera crew, no companions, nothing but 10 items they select from a list. Surrounded by wilderness and wild animals (bear, mountain lions, wild boar) they are left to fend for themselves with no time limit. Just be the last one standing. It could be a week… it could be a year. What 10 items would you take?
DOWNTON ABBEYdownton_abbey_violet Drama PBS The show is set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey, and depicts the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the post-Edwardian era—with the great events in history having an effect on their lives and on the British social hierarchy.
GAME OF THRONES Fantasy Drama HBO A series where nine noble families fight for control over the mythical lands of Westeros. This series appeals to men and women; young and old. I strongly suggest watching it from the beginning. There is a complex plot that intertwines and builds to climactic points. Winter is coming.
JUSTIFIED Crime FX Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens is a lawman that finds himself reassigned from Miami to his childhood home in the poor, rural coal-mining towns in Eastern Kentucky. I especially enjoyed this because my husband and I looked forward to watching it together. Series (2010-2015)
LAST MAN STANDING Comedy ABC The challenges of daily family life for a man living with his 3 daughters. Who doesn’t love Tim Allen?
LONGMIRE Drama A&E He's an old-school sheriff. A widower rebuilding his life. But this lawman can still take down the bad guys. 6 seasons available on Netflix and Amazon.
MIDSOMER MURDERS Mystery Drama ITV British Mystery of the Week drama (1997 to present) about a police detective and his younger colleague operating in the fictional English county district of Midsomer.
MOMmom Comedy CBS Christy, a newly sober single mom who tries to pull her life together in Napa Valley.
THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF…housewives Drama (Really) BRAVO Who needs Jerry Springer when there are Real Housewives? If you need or enjoy cat fights, arguments and tons of drama, watch any of the Real Housewives shows. Mostly very wealthy, middle-aged women who look great for their age (botox is their best friend), there are many to choose from: Beverly Hills, Orange County, New York, Atlanta, New Jersey, Dallas and now Melbourne. My favourites include Beverly Hills and New York. (If you click the link, a window will open for BRAVO TV. Click the drop-down arrow next to SHOWS, then select the city of your choice.)
THE WALKING DEAD Horror AMC Not for the faint of heart, this American horror drama television is based on a comic book series where groups of people try to survive in a world overrun by the walking dead. Fighting the dead, fearing the living. Extremely graphic, the show appeals to men and women; young and old.
THIS IS US Comedy/Drama NBC Follows a unique ensemble, as their paths cross and their life stories intertwine, from sharing the same birthday, to so much more than anyone would expect. (2016-   )
