Introductions

Imagine meeting someone who understood even the dustiest corners of your mixed-up soul.

There were 3 children in our family, Irene (the oldest, my best friend and collaborator on this blog), Sandy (the rebel – that would be me) and a baby brother (well, the baby and only boy). All 3 of us are currently married (to our original spouses), and each of us have two children. Irene has 2 boys, I have a boy (and grandson) and a girl, and our brother has 2 boys (and a grandson). Our parents were European immigrants. We were born and raised in Michigan. Irene moved with her husband to Kentucky when the boys were just starting school. I moved to Kentucky after retiring.

We are in our late 50s. We have worked, raised children, paid off mortgages and survived difficulties.

The past 5 decades have been good. We want the next 5 to be even better!

Whenever one of us experienced something unfamiliar, difficult…. even scary … we had each other (and friends) to turn to. Oftentimes, we had to look for help outside of friends and family. There are no easy answers out there when: dealing with a parent that can no longer live alone, needing to have an uncomfortable talk with your child, or experiencing physical changes that scare the beejeebies out of you!

We will share our experiences, and sometimes, just do the internet-leg-work for you!
